About this app
For all those who are in the educational environment there is a platform that has become essential for both students and teachers and parents, we are talking about Edmodo.
It has its origins in 2008, when two Chicago professors decided to help their students by finding a way for them to combine their studies with their private lives. Today it is one of the most used study platforms, with more than 65 million active users, making it the number one in primary and secondary online training.
Today, online education has become a fundamental tool, with endless applications and tools that make it much more entertaining and dynamic for everyone. The Edmodo application is one of them, it uses the mechanics and dynamics of its games so that you can continue studying without realizing it.
It is a free platform, which you will find in the language you want and in which it does not matter how old you are to register, by operating with private pages by default, no one will be able to access the information you have in your account, to which you will access with your username and password. Download this app for free for Android and iOS devices.
Among its main advantages of Edmodo is that you find yourself in a very safe educational environment, based on closed environments, in which the members of these small groups will be the ones who help nurture content, sharing messages and files.
What you have to know when using the Edmodo application is what your role will be in this virtual class. There are three types of profiles on the platform and depending on your function you will choose one of them, in which you will only have to fill out your registration and you will be able to start using it, exploring all the options it offers you.
First you will find it will be the profile for teachers, they will be in charge of creating and managing the groups, so an account with these characteristics will allow you to perform more actions than others. You can start from scratch a whole class or just a specific subject, add documents, create events such as tests, assignments or designated days, design methodologies or grade students. It will also act as a chat moderator, having the possibility of deleting messages that they do not consider appropriate.
Instead, you can have a student account. These can join the groups already created previously, but as long as they know the password to access. This password will be chosen and distributed by the teacher among those who want to be in his class. They will have access to all the material included in the study group, which they can download, consult, view the notes and events, write to the teacher, etc. The way to participate is very similar to how you would do it in a social network, with a chat in which you will write directly to the teacher all the doubts you have, which can be resolved by the teacher or by the rest of the classmates. All the messages that are sent are public, the students cannot be written in private and even less to users who do not belong to their study group.
Last are the parent profiles. This profile will grant them permission to enter the platform and data of their children if they have the access code for relatives of children. In this way they can see the activities they have and all their notes and events.
Download Edmodo, you will find a safe place in which there is no space for inappropriate content or intimidation, since the teacher is the one who publishes all the material and creating a collaborative environment in which students are guided and helped to avoid inappropriate behavior.
Both its web version and the free application have the same interface. In this way it is ensured that students do not get lost browsing it. This is very useful for the little ones, since it gives them the autonomy to be the ones who manage their own account, without the need for an adult who has to help them every time they want to enter their profile.
With Edmodo you guarantee an educational environment in which you will get many benefits, such as keeping students motivated and eager to learn, fostering collaboration between one another, encouraging the students themselves to participate in classes, and above all create a community in which they feel integrated part.
