About this app
Google Play, which was originally released as and which Google calls Android Market, is Google's official shop and portal for applications, games and other Android content for an Android TV with Android phone, tablet or device. Just as Apple has its App Store, Google has the Google Play Store. It is a huge place and offers a lot of content to its users, such as applications, games, music, movies and many more.
In the past, Google Play used to offer the Devices tab in the Play Store, but the transactions on the device were obviously not the same as those on the software, because the devices required transactions such as shipping, customer support and possible returns. So Google decided to split the devices and now there's the Google Store and, of course, Google Play, which is used to download applications and content.
The "previous version" of Google Play was Android Market. It handled the content of the application, while Google Music and Google Books handled books and music. Then, Android Market was just an Android app store that did the creation of separate app stores for Amazon, Samsung, Sony and many others.
Google Play sells Android apps, which can be accessed in the Home and Games section of the Play Store. In addition, the Google Play Store has the smart option to give recommendations based on your previous downloads. The design of the store is also incredibly done. The categories, the best carts and the choice of publisher are neat and in perfect order that provide great user comfort.
The word "play" in Google Play also plays an important role. The word itself implies that there are games involved. The logo resembles the Play button on videos. So, this metaphor makes us feel excited to play and explore the store. After all, Google Play has a wide variety of Android games. But games aren't the only thing that the Google Store can suggest. The Play Music store still works in the same way as the old independent Google Music product. The player works the same way, the difference is that it is in the Music section of Google Play.
Google Play is Google's big umbrella that covers the Android app store, Google Play Music, Google Play Books, Google Play Movies & TV and Google Play Kiosk. All these applications are already installed on your Android phone, tablet or Android TV device along with the standalone Google Play application where you can download and buy applications and media. Not all services are available in all countries, so one or more items may be missing. That's something Google is constantly working on, and we hope all services will be implemented worldwide soon.
